Back To Work

After more than 6 months of indefinite leave, I am part of the new helpdesk account where I got shortlisted. And yes, training is now being conducted here in Manila and I don't want to sour grape on this post since I have a lot of other things to be thankful for. lol!  The first week of training was for Voice and Accent  lead by Ms. Ariane who has such an amazing foreign accent. Voice and accent training is one of the most popular training programmes in the BPO industry. It is designed keeping in mind the diversified globalized culture and the need of business outsourcing to improve their overall English conversational skills to meet international standards. I find her somehow strict but I really admire her hardwork and passion for her craft to improve our communication skills.

The next few weeks will be for product training. The new account is one of the largest bank and insurance in Australia. I am very excited with this new project since it is a pioneer and day shift account, we were given hands on training by the clients or what we call partners. Yes they flew all the way from Australia so it is expected to have an intensive yet fun training. We just finished a month of training with some of the Aussie trainers and managers namely James, Colin,Ian, Nick and Luke. Surprisingly they are really cool, friendly, approachable and passionate at their craft. I must say so far this is the best training I had, since they are really good in keeping the training sessions lively. They just don't talk but they communicate. They know how to have fun by inserting icebreakers once in a while. We ended our first week receiving some gifts from them like tumblers, caps, some souvenirs and key chains fresh from Australia. They even prepared some food and drinks for us at the bar of Richmond Hotel at Eastwood City where they will stay for the next couple of weeks. With unlimited food and drink, we really had a fun night getting to know each other.
